Rates

Since we opened in 2018 we have not increased our rates. In fact, act before May 1st, 2023 and save $1,000 your first month. We know that dollars and cents are important to you, and so we strive to have The Maxwell House be as affordable as possible.

Not being able to take care of my father on my own became an issue back in 2019. His condition warranted more professional care. I searched for accommodations for him and was disappointed with the options before me. Then the Head of Augustana Day Center, Apple Valley, suggested I give Maxwell House a call. I did so and they graciously invited me to come by, chat and check out what they had to offer. Maxwell House has a very homey atmosphere which is a plus in my book. Institutions are so cold and impersonal. This, on the other hand, has a "real" home setting and the staff makes it a safe and caring environment. If you have a loved one that requires more care then you are able to give. The Maxwell house is definitely the place to look into. The business owners and the staff are really great to work with too!

Maxwell House Review Christine and Kurt have a passion for their residents and always treated my father with dignity and respect. It takes a special kind of person to be a hospice/long term care provider. The Maxwell’s balanced the mixed emotions of 5 siblings regarding the care of our father with the wishes of my father. Family support combined with compassionate listening and counseling skills were an immense blessing especially for me, the person with the responsibility of making the final health care and financial decisions. They were a blessing after he was terminated at his assisted living facility, they were able to take over his care in a very timely way, which helped all us deal with our own needs and the needs of our employers. All 5 siblings were employed at the time of his decline, and the Maxwell’s’ were able to help with doctor appointments and therapies that were ordered. They were able to provide timely updates on his conditions and not only report to myself but the doctors and hospice nurses as applicable. My Dad’s emotional needs and wishes of the family always seemed to be met with a realistic approach. The needs of each resident seemed to be met in a timely manner by Kurt, Christine or one of their qualified staff members. My Dad, Bob, had left temporal dementia which left him unable to speak early on in the diagnosis and eventually caused other bodily functions to stop responding leading to his eventual death. Christine and Kurt were both accustomed to his facial and/or body language to express his disappointment and joy, and luckily he maintained his ability to laugh and they were able to get a chuckle from him even during his worst days. The home was always clean and organized. Odors were never an issue as the patients were cared for on a timely basis. Meals always seemed to be served in a timely manner and the Maxwell’s went out of their way to cater to each resident’s personal likes and dislikes. Activities were provided, some of Bob’s favorites were going to the Twins Games with Kurt, The Minnesota Orchestra Concerts with Kurt and Christine, and Canterbury Park for the viewing of the Kentucky Derby. Eventually activities had to be tailored to his limited abilities, at some point just trying to eat was a powerful activity. Activity and Daily Cares were always geared toward his needs, which seemed to vary day by day. Their care was always respectful and professional. Pamela Serra Daughter

The Maxwell house was such a wonderful place for my Dad, Glenn Willing. I moved him here from an uncaring facility, and he received the best of care. It is such a home like environment. I felt SO welcome to visit at ANY time. And dad was very well taken care of. When he suddenly he had to go into Hospice Care, The Maxwells were still there ALL through that hard time. They supported me and my family and I love them so much for how Great they took care of my dad. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a HOME like atmosphere for mom or dad.
